Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Wednesday, April 3, said it has surpassed 10,000 megawatt (MW) renewable energy capacity in its operational portfolio, “contributing reliable, affordable, and clean power to the national grid.”
The company’s operational portfolio comprises 7,393 MW of solar capacity, 1,401 MW of wind capacity, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.
This achievement underscores Adani Green and its development partners’ commitment to advancing towards the target of 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
Adani Green’s operational portfolio of 10,934 MW will provide electricity to over 5.8 million homes and prevent approximately 21 million tonne of annual carbon-dioxide emissions, it said.
This achievement sets a benchmark for how a combination of innovative technology, execution capabilities, digitization, a strong supply chain network, and long-term infrastructure financing, along with sustainable practices, can lead the way in driving the transition to clean energy and large-scale decarbonisation efforts.
“In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has not just envisioned a greener future but has actualised it, growing from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity,” said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group.
Adani Green said it is committed to sustainable practices across its operations, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Its focus on a sustainable future includes initiatives such as being single-use plastic-free, achieving zero waste-to-landfill, and maintaining water-positive status for plants with over 200 MW capacity.
Shares of Adani Green Energy were trading 0.44% lower at ₹1,885.05 apiece on the BSE at 10:11 am.
