Francisco Partners, an investment firm with offices in San Francisco, CA, London, UK, and New York City, and a focus on partnering with technology and technology-enabled businesses, has acquired Jama Software, a requirements management and traceability solution provider based in Portland, OR, from investors that include Insight Partners and Madrona Ventures.
Subject to usual closing conditions, the $1.2 billion deal was reached.
Jama Software is a requirements management software provider that helps engineering organizations in fields like fuel cells, electrification, space, software-defined vehicles, surgical robotics, and more reduce the risk of defects, rework, cost overruns, and recalls.
The company is led by CEO Marc Osofsky, who will personally reinvest and continue to lead the business.
Engineering organizations may use Jama Connect® to measureably enhance results by using Live TraceabilityTM across tools to intelligently manage the development process.
The automobile, medical device, semiconductor, life sciences, aerospace and defense, industrial manufacturing, consumer electronics, financial services, and insurance industries are among its clientele.
