A $15 million Series A funding was raised by Pure Lithium, a lithium metal battery technology business situated in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
The money was invested by Oxy Low Carbon Ventures.
The money will be used by the business to quicken its efforts at development and commercialization.
This company is led by CEO Emilie Bodoin and CSO Donald R. Sadoway, offers a revolutionary Brine to BatteryTM extraction technique that sources lithium in a single day to produce an electrode that is ready for use in a battery. There is no surplus lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, or graphite in the final battery.
Emilie Bodoin responded to the news by saying, “Our goal at Pure Lithium is to commercialize the lithium metal battery through vertical integration along the whole value chain, from resource to battery.
Our ground-breaking Brine to BatteryTM lithium metal extraction process converts aqueous lithium sources into battery-ready lithium metal anodes in a single step.
The performance of our Pure Lithium metal anode has been demonstrated by our resultant lithium metal batteries, which have completed over 800 cycles of charging and discharging while maintaining 97% capacity.
We are ecstatic to welcome OLCV as a value-adding shareholder on our path. Pure Lithium and its strategic vision are well-aligned.
