A medical technology startup based in London, UK called ThinkSono raised £2.1 million in funding. The company specializes in ultrasound AI guiding systems.
Leading the round was id4 Ventures, with participation from many angel investors and vascular surgery physicians, as well as Brandenburg Kapital, Calm Storm Ventures, Dubai Angel Investors, CrowdCube, and Cur8 Capital.
The company plans to use the money to grow both its R&D department and its operations.
Under the direction of CEO Fouad Al Noor, ThinkSono offers Guidance software, which enables medical personnel who are not educated in ultrasonography to screen patients who may have blood clots (DVT) and forward the information for a skilled clinician to examine, thereby streamlining the clinical process.
To put things in perspective, DVT is a major global cause of avoidable hospital deaths. The business, which has alliances with medical facilities in the UK, Germany, Greece, and other parts of Europe, also revealed strategic alliances with NYU Langone Health and Temple Health.
Fouad Al Noor responded to the news by saying, “Our partnerships with NYU Langone Health and Temple Health underscore our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that ultimately improve patient outcomes.” “This funding will enable us to further advance our mission of revolutionizing medical imaging technology.”
