Trip.com Group underlined its commitment to transforming travel experiences via innovation, focusing on AI, personalization, and global travelers’ changing requirements at ITB Berlin 2024. Schubert Lou, Trip.com’s COO, gave a talk on experiential travel and AI’s role in personalizing vacations.

He remarked that today’s travelers want more than just sightseeing, including exhilarating excursions, amazing fireworks, and lively festivals.
Mr. Lou remarked, “Trip.com is leading the way in personalizing travel using AI. Our technology enhances lives and creates memories that linger beyond the return journey.”
He revealed TripGenie’s groundbreaking AI travel assistant’s amazing engagement numbers. With the launch of the Trip.Vision app, leveraging Apple Vision Pro technology, Trip.com Group continues to innovate personalised travel by offering immersive experiences of global destinations and setting new standards for personalised exploration.
Enhancing Hotel Experiences with Personalised Packages
At ITB Berlin, Boon Sian Chai, Managing Director and Vice President for International Markets, discussed new travel packages that personalize hotel guest experiences. Trip.com’s “Hotel Rooms Plus X” combines accommodations with personalized experiences. “This approach signals a new age where every hotel stay is a tailored trip, directly related to each traveller’s likes and interests,” he added.
Mr. Chai also discussed hospitality trends including AI-enhanced search. Trip.com’s AI-ranking lists, “Trip.Best,” “Trip.Trends,” and “Trip.Deals,” recommend personalized travel and accommodations based on over 100 million user reviews and market experts, setting a standard for customized hospitality experiences and helping travel partners attract customers.
Live-streaming, which gained popularity during the epidemic, now drives hotel reservations. Over a billion people have seen the “LIVE for Trip” ad, which incorporates interactive sessions with real-time travel bargains and hotel partnerships, demonstrating the company’s innovation. Since 2020, the livestreams have showcased thousands of items from France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Southeast Asia, and more.

Visa Relaxation Helps EuropeChinese Travel
Due to more relaxed visa rules, European tourism to China has increased this year. China’s visa-free policy for citizens of seven European countries—France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, and Switzerland—has increased flight reservations by almost 200% and hotel and train bookings by nearly 300% compared to February 2023. These advances improve China-Europe tourism and cultural relations.
