AtmosZero, a steam decarbonization startup based in Fort Collins, Colorado, has secured $21 million in Series A funding.
Engine Ventures and 2150 led the round. Constellation Energy Corporation (Nasdaq: CEG)’s strategic venture arm, Constellation Technology Ventures, joined current investors Energy Impact Partners, Starlight Ventures, and AENU in their participation.
The company plans to utilize the money to move on with both initiatives, which include carrying out the commercial pilot and broadening its presence throughout Europe.
Under the direction of CEO Addison Stark, AtmosZero offers Boiler 2.0, an electric steam generator that offers a way to decarbonize steam production in district steam, industrial manufacturing, and the built environment. With Boiler 2.0 technology, businesses can rapidly and affordably replace their outdated natural gas and oil boilers by extracting heat from the air and delivering high-temperature steam with maximum efficiency and zero carbon emissions.
AtmosZero and New Belgium Brewing Company inked a strategic relationship last year, which includes a large-scale pilot at New Belgium’s flagship location. Furthermore, the business opened its Amsterdam-based European affiliate, AtmosZero Europe, B.V.
The business is a Colorado State University spin-out.
