The operation was led by SeedRocket, Spain’s first technology-based startup accelerator, and included funding from LANAI Partners and BeCapital Seed Money. A number of investors from SeedRocket’s business angels network, as well as other key individuals in Spain’s entrepreneurial environment, have also contributed to the round.
The monies received will allow Habitacion.com to expand its operations. The company will devote half of the funds generated to operational and infrastructure difficulties, with the other half going toward validating the business model through the sale of the first rooms.
Habitacion.com, founded in 2023 in Madrid by Oriol Valls, Anna Labarias, and José Fernández, enables clients to become partial property owners in an accessible and flexible manner. In this manner, the system allows the client to sell or rent a room and return their investment anytime they choose.
“We want to transform the way people save by offering customers to avoid rental costs and save money when buying a room. We are confident that this first financial transaction will allow us to expand our business and achieve our goals. In addition, very relevant figures in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem have backed our project, a fact that reinforces our status and will help us to continue growing”.
Oriol Valls, co-founder and CEO of Habitacion.com
After completing the first room sales in Terrassa, Barcelona, and validating the business model, the startup intends to carry out various real estate operations, allowing it to grow into Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Granada, and Alicante. In addition, they are in talks with many key partners to increase the number of available rooms.
It is predicted that habitacion.com will sell at least 40 rooms by 2024. Since its founding, the firm has prioritized ensuring utmost security and optimal benefits for its clients. Room buyers become legitimate owners of a portion of the asset and are registered in the Land Registry, providing them with the required legal security.
Furthermore, buyers agree to a covenant between the parties that protects their interests and governs cohabitation and use of the property.
Habitacion.com’s value proposition is based on the high quality standards of its rooms, as well as the logistical and managerial services that the firm offers its customers.
