Today, maintaining a social media presence can be challenging. Staying active on the current wave of Twitter-like sites, such as Mastodon, Nostr, and Bluesky, requires a lot of duplicate posts to several networks, making it even more difficult for users.
Even while multi-service social networking and news trackers like Tapestry haven’t launched yet, Nootti’s iOS software can help you save time and effort when sharing a post with your followers on three of the most well-liked Twitter/X substitutes.
Additionally, you may cross-post that same message to any other apps you wish, such as X or Meta’s Threads, by using Apple’s built-in “Share via…” feature. (An ingenious workaround considering that X’s is too costly for independent developers to use and Threads’ API is not yet available.)
Nootti means “note” in Finnish, and that’s about it. It won’t have all the features that come with publishing straight on the platforms, such as Mastodon’s hashtag suggestions and the option to add polls and alt text to images.
On the other hand, Nootti can handle a simple text post (or a text post with media). Nootti counts the remaining characters while you enter into the text entry area. If you’d like, you may also upload files from your
Camera Roll. Simply hit the envelope icon to send the message on its way.
You must first set up your accounts in the settings before you can use Nootti. (Note: Although it’s not explicitly stated in the app, you can use an app password for Bluesky in place of your primary password.)
Nootti is engaging since it’s simple to adapt each post to fit the many platforms. To accomplish this, start by typing your post in the “Main” page and then navigate to the other social network tabs. Each tab will have the post automatically filled in, but you may change the message for each network separately. For example, you may use more humor in your postings on Bluesky, whereas on Mastodon, you could use hashtags.
