Sibli, an AI-powered financial research firm based in Toronto, Canada, has raised $4.5 million in seed money.
Staircase Ventures led the financing, and private investors, MaRS IAF, The Group Ventures, and Burst Capital also participated.
The company plans to use the money to advance both its technological development and growth.
“We have helped some of the most sophisticated investors in the world solve practical challenges with tangible benefits: with some even launching novel strategies only made possible through Generative AI and our technology. As we help our clients re-imagine their investment process, we see a future where the day-to-day responsibilities of the investment analyst are completely transformed, allowing them to transition from low-level research towards high-value cognitive and social tasks.”
Alik Sokolov, CEO
Sibli, led by CEO Alik Sokolov, develops technology that uses generative AI and advances in natural language processing to process massive amounts of unstructured data, identify insights, and provide them to quantitative and fundamental asset managers. Institutional investors can make better decisions and get an informational edge by utilizing technology, which boosts productivity and performance.
Having its roots in academics, the technology is specialized for the unique demands of investment research and is utilized by elite asset managers, some of them are part of the Maple 8.
