A New York City-based AgeTech startup called Carl has secured $1.15 million in Pre-Seed investment for its dementia-friendly product line.
The backers were kept a secret.
Carl divides his work into two sections:
- Initially, as a phone or tablet designed with an easy-to-use interface specifically for those suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Second, the Carl Family App streamlines care management with an integrated suite of tools, including tracking the loved one’s battery and location status, private and secure family networks, and more. It offers easy-to-use features like one-touch dialing, video calls, unwanted call blockers, memory photo albums, and music, with more apps to come.
Carl also offers a special area where caregivers may interact, exchange stories, and have access to helpful tools like education and information that is carefully chosen to provide advice on caring for others.
