Legends, a San Francisco, California-based company that offers adolescents a platform for building confidence, has raised $6 million in seed money.
Floodgate Capital, Reach Capital, and individual investors, among them technologist Joe Liemandt, led the round.
The money will be used by the business to increase operations and development initiatives.
Under the direction of CEO and Founder Sonny Caberwal, Legends is a platform that assists children in developing skills that will prepare them for the future and boosting their confidence via regular practice.
Designed for children aged 7 to 11 and their parents, families participate in daily 5-minute “workouts” that build confidence through inspirational films about historical figures, including scientists, acclaimed artists, and sports, as well as interactive activities that reinforce the day’s subject.
Together with the investment, Legends has also secured $1 million to establish the Legends Lab Foundation, a nonprofit organization headed by Sue Wasiolek, a former dean of students at Duke University for more than 40 years, that focuses on increasing accessibility to resources that support confidence and related skills.
