Artie, a database replication management firm situated in San Francisco, California, has closed a $3.3 million seed investment.
The investment was headed by Exponent Founders Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, General Catalyst, and angel investors Benn Stancil, Lenny Rachitsky, and Arash Ferdowsi.
“One common misconception about real-time streaming is its presumed higher cost compared to batch processing. Our experience with customers tells a different story: not only do they benefit from real-time data, but they often also see a reduction in total cost of ownership. This is particularly true for companies with large volumes of data.”
Jacqueline Cheong, CEO
Artie’s software ensures high data integrity while reducing latency to seconds. It also saves money by eliminating the need to process large batches of data. Customers are then able to operationalize their data warehouse and generate more timely, impactful insights.
Under the direction of co-founder and CEO Jacqueline Cheong and co-founder and CTO Robin Tang, Artie uses streaming technology, change data capture (CDC), data syncing, and the ability to automatically handle schema modification in-flight to enable database replication real-time, dependable, and affordable.
