Additional funding of $150 million was raised by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Abridge, a startup that specializes in generative AI for clinical documentation.
Lightspeed Venture Partners led the Series C investment and will also be joining the board.
In addition, co-lead Redpoint Ventures, IVP, Spark Capital, Union Square Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Wittington Ventures, Mass General Brigham Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Fund (AIDIF), Kaiser Permanente Ventures, and CVS Health Ventures were among the other new and current investors.
Within 4 months of raising the $30 million Series B, the company closed this additional round of funding.
The money will be used by the business to grow its workforce and create foundation models that leverage massive repositories of multimodal healthcare data.
Abridge, led by CEO and Founder Dr. Shiv Rao, offers a platform designed specifically for medical talks, increasing clinical documentation efficiency and freeing up doctors to concentrate on their patients. With strong EMR connectivity, its enterprise-grade technology instantly converts patient-clinician talks into organized clinical notes.
The business is constantly coming up with new ideas for how to further integrate into the EMR, personalize notes, and give doctors post-visit information.
