Indian whisky has been experiencing a global renaissance, with a domestic single-malt recently winning a prestigious award.
Indri-Trini from Piccadilly Distilleries recently won the VinePair Awards, which are presented by the US-based alcohol-beverage platform, for “Best ‘New World’ Whisky.”
VinePair’s selection procedure involves tasting hundreds of whiskies from around the globe and narrowing the selection to one exceptional bottle for each whisky category, paying particular attention to the whisky’s flavor, complexity, depth, and balance.
With this most recent achievement, the Indri-Trini—which was founded in 2021—has won approximately 14 international honors, solidifying its standing as one of India’s fastest-growing single malt brands.
In just four short months, Indri has already won two significant international awards, the first being this VinePair honor. The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2023 defeated over 100 other whisky variations, including scotch, bourbon, and British single malts, to win the prestigious title of “Double Gold Best In Show” at the Whiskies of the World Awards, one of the world’s premier whisky-tasting competitions, last October.
