SHEIN, a global online fashion and lifestyle retailer, is expanding its collaboration with local affiliates of Dress for Success (DFS), a non-profit organization that helps women achieve economic independence by providing a support network, professional attire, and development tools to succeed in work and life.
SHEIN will fund six DFS affiliates in the US, UK, Italy, and Singapore with US$430,000, establishing new relationships with five affiliates in Indianapolis, Chattanooga, Milan, Rome, and Singapore and continuing its partnership with DFS Greater London.
SHEIN money will assist DFS’ daily operations and unique projects, including sponsorship of:
- Indianapolis’ annual Stepping Out In Style fundraiser dinner and fashion show
- Annual CelebrateHer Gala and Professional Women’s Group launch in Chattanooga, US
- Rome’s first DFS-dedicated Multifunctional Centre provides training and assistance.
- Expanded outreach and office renovations for Milan recipients
- Curated a Singapore photoshoot and image makeover.
- Annual Power of Women Awards in London, UK
Leonard Lin, SHEIN’s Global Head of Public Affairs and Singapore General Manager, remarked, “Fashion empowers and changes lives. Our expanding cooperation with new Dress for Success affiliates and strong relationships with the Greater London affiliate demonstrate our commitment to supporting women who may encounter hurdles to success and enabling them to reach their full potential. Our goal with Dress for Success is to empower women with the knowledge, tools, and network to successfully establish their professions and determine their futures.”
SHEIN’s previous partnership with DFS Greater London provided cash sponsorship and wardrobe contributions, benefitting over 400 women since 2019. SHEIN and DFS Greater London released a 23-piece capsule “Curve” collection in October 2023.
This collection of berry, black, and cream dresses, blazers, jumpsuits, fitted trousers, and shirts was designed for UK sizes 16-24 women. The six DFS affiliates received part of SHEIN’s US$35 million commitment in September 2023 to social impact programs for women, youth, and impoverished areas.
